Dopod to launch GPS-enabled PDA phone in 3Q/4Q









According to Taiwan-based handset vendor Dopod International , they plan to launch GPS-enabled PDA mobile phone by the end of the third quarter or early in the fourth quarte. As we know , Dopod launced 2 models e P100 and S300, for the consumer segment. The P100, which was launched at the end of last year, has sold well in Taiwan but has met with lukewarm reception in overseas markets, whereas sales of the S300, which was launched in the second quarter of this year, have not yet reached the company's shipment target of 100,000 units, the sources noted. Also Dopod will begin to sell a similar version of the CHT9000 PDA phone that it developed for Chunghwa Telecom (CHT), in Hong Kong, Singapore and Malaysia, starting in August.
